Then I would like to give you an insight into my studio:
It is part of a great artist community and is located in a beautiful old building right in the pedestrian zone of Flensburg city center in the north of Germany, near to the danish border and the baltic see.
When I enter my large studio, which consists of two rooms and additional storage space, I find that drinking coffee together with my studio neighbor, who is a Goldsmith, is an important step on the way to the canvas.
You will find the canvas in my painting area, which is the heart of the studio, so to speak. I have space there for paintings up to a maximum of 10 square meters in size. It's also important that there's always something good to snack on in the studio, for me it is a vital part of creating a positive studio atmosphere. That's the best way for me to get into the creative process
Before I choose my colors from the shelf and pick up the brush and spatula, I like to play music, mostly meditative and inspiring music.
When I'm in the studio and feel comfortable and balanced, I can focus all my energy and creativity on painting, and when things turn out well, the positive energy is also reflected in the painted picture.
This is what the future looks like:
my new Studio location in the courtyard!
I would like to expressly thank my previous artist community for 9 wonderful years together. I always loved coming to my beautiful old studio, where we often drank coffee together and talked togetherabout art and more.
Now it's time for a change of scenery – we've signed a new lease! It's almost time – my studio is about to move, but it will still be in the Flensburg city center. As an artist trio, we have found a very charming old house and from September we will be writing the next chapter in the almost 250-year history of the building. The goldsmith Dominique Lenoir will work on the ground floor, Kira Köntges will be creating art under the roof in the loft space and I am really looking forward to painting my pictures behind the four middle windows. We call our new premisis in german "Kunstspeicher im Hof" - that means roughly arthouse in the courtyard. I will probably be able to present the result of the move in october...I am really excited to share what comes next.
